Equities Exchange Highlights
Strong retail activity has contributed to significant equity volume growth in 2025. In October, consolidated industry average daily volume surged 80% year-over-year to 21 billion shares. The growth in off-exchange market share and sub-$1 volume highlights the increasing influence of individual investors in the markets. On MEMX, average daily retail volume grew 157% year-over-year in October to 208 million shares.

Retail investors are increasingly trading individual larger-cap tech and growth stocks, not just sub-penny names. On MEMX, the tickers with the most notional retail activity were TSLA, NVDA, AMD, OKLO, META, and TSLL. TSLA and TSLL (TSLA bull 2X shares) represented a combined 11.3% of notional traded on MEMX.

Options Exchange Highlights
MEMX Options hit several new records in October:
- Total market share reached 4.6%
- Regular electronic market share hit 8.4% and we ranked second among 18 exchanges
- Average daily volume traded increased to 2.92 million contracts, up 98% year-over-year. Over the same period, industry options volume rose just 31%

Eight of the top 10 most active volume days on MEMX Options occurred in October. The largest volume day was 4.786 million contracts traded on October 10th. The largest market share day occurred on October 22nd, with total market share of 7.2% and regular electronic market share of 12.2%.
